Reconnecting - Q1 MC Team Days

Though it was a while back now, the MC had its first "team days" on the 11-12th October. Yes, we've been pretty busy since then!

Our aim with the team days was to:
  • Reconnect with our year plan - where we are trying to take AIESEC in Pakistan and how far we have come
  • Spend some time together as a team, away from the office
So, over the weekend, we spent a good amount doing so!

The first day was spent reviewing Q1 (July - September 2008), involving:
  • Review of our performance
  • Identifying challenges we faced in the months, our successes and failures
  • Looking at how we work as a team, and how to work better and more effectively
  • Reviewing team image and expectations

We spent the second day looking forward:
  • Setting revised goals for the next quarters
  • Team feedback
  • Identifying areas that each team member wants to improve their knowledge/experience
  • Brainstorming (Experience Pakistan, expansions)
On top of that, we took turns cooking lunch and also had a nice dinner at Baan Thai in Zamzama!

The main output from the weekend was:
  • Our performance as a team in Q1 was not anywhere near what it should have been
  • We need to implement the team processes we suggest (regular process meetings, LC Development meetings, using the office walls)
  • Need better performance tracking on the MC and LC levels

The Climax

iSo here's the latest scoop from our end!

The May Edition of The Spark is out! Check it out for updates from across the country! Also, for the first time ever, the Experience Pakistan (X-PAK) newsletter has been launched that featured the latest from the Exchange front.

The newsletters are also available for download here on the Pakistan Community in case you've missed the spams! We'd like to thank Saba for helping us compile these!

Also, Saher Sohail from AIESEC Karachi remains the countries top matcher this month, and has just been joined by Sadia Ahmad from AIESEC Lahore on the Matchers League.

We finally had our team retreat out of Karachi! It was a momentous occasion indeed. We went to Muree and then were shown the real Islamabad by Mustafa from AIESEC Lahore! Thanks man! You're going to rock intern servicing! Here are some times to remember from the trip:

The Pakistan Monument - A Magnificent new attraction - Fire, Water, Lights, And Marble.

Joanna and Friends

Kurt in a Moment of Modesty

Emad and Joanna Battling it out

And Joanna (Nina) Wins! Wasn't Emad a gamer once?

The FireStarters

The Grand Faisal Mosque, Islamabad

This month is about some major wrapups. We've given ourselves some large targets and we are going to come good on them! Check out the Weekly Priorities HERE as usual.

It's also getting pretty hot in Karachi. Temperatures and humidity levels are skyrocketing, but hey, the world has to be changed.

Important Announcement from A.I.: We no longer use the term SN. It is to be now replaced by Exchange Participant - EP. Neat! :)

Stay tuned.
